Day 1 · rrival in Bahir Dar (Lake Tana & Blue Nile Falls)
Fly from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the 14th-century island monasteries, known for their vivid murals and ancient manuscripts . Later, drive to the Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat) for a short hike to view the “smoking water” . Overnight in Bahir Dar.
Day 2 · Day 2: Gondar (The Camelot of Africa)
Drive approximately 3 hours to Gondar. Spend the afternoon exploring the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a UNESCO site with 17th-century castles . Visit Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its angel-filled ceiling, and the Fasilides Bath . Overnight in Gondar.
Day 3 · Day 3: Fly to Lalibela & Northern Churches
Take a morning flight to Lalibela. In the afternoon, begin exploring the Northern Cluster of rock-hewn churches, including Bet Medhane Alem (the largest monolithic church in the world) and Bet Maryam . Overnight in Lalibela.
Day 4 · Day 4: Lalibela (Southern Churches & St. George)
Spend a full day visiting the Southern Cluster and the iconic Bet Giyorgis (St. George’s Church), which is carved in the shape of a cross . Take time to walk through the tunnels and trenches connecting the churches. Overnight in Lalibela.
Day 5 · Day 5: Return to Addis Ababa
Fly back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your departure time, you may have a chance for a farewell dinner or a quick city tour before your international flight .
